Today I'm sharing my recipe for one of my favourite juices made with oranges, carrots and ginger with you. Or as I like to call it, orange zinger juice! I make this juice when I'm looking for a change from my regular green juice routine (I posted my favourite green juice recipe here a while back), or when I'm in the mood for something a bit sweeter and more indulgent. It's super quick and simple to make too, all the while packing an impressive flavour punch. Plus, its loaded full of nutrients and I think that colour is just so pretty to look at!

Now, you might have noticed that the pictures I took for this post look a bit different from my usual ones, and that's because I had a little change of scenery last week. I traveled home to Ottawa to visit family and get some final wedding tasks done (I returned to the UK last weekend with my wedding dress and our invitations, yay!) It was quite an intense week with lots of appointments and meetings - we even managed to travel to Quebec City for a night to see some of my aunts and my grandma - but it was great to spend some time with family before our big day in August. I did manage to take some photos and do some recipe testing as well while I was there - it's always fun to use my mom's kitchen, it makes me realise how small mine is! I'll tell you more about by trip back home in a May-June Favourites post towards the end of this month.

Orange zinger juice

This is one of my favourite juice recipes when I'm looking for a break from my green juice routine. With only 3 ingredients, this orange zinger juice is super quick and easy to make and has a beautiful orange colour. It keeps well in the fridge for a couple days. Go big on the ginger if you like spice or use a bit less for a mellower flavour.

Ingredients:

  • 6 small oranges, peeled (use juicy varieties like navel oranges)
  • 10 large carrots, peeled
  • 1 knob of ginger, peeled 

Method:

Juice all ingredients using a centrifugal juicer. Drink immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up 2 days.

Serves 3 (yields about 800 mL juice).
